Here in this topic I would like to discuss with others their experience and knowledge about albino and about variegated ganja
In this photo here you can see a small flower from a field where Tiger Tail and Squirrel Tail they was growing together
This farmer every year have few plants that they display variegation. So I tried her seeds and I had a very small success: one plant had a small bud like similar to the picture uploaded before so for me this means that is a transmittable trait
In this second photo you can see albino landrace squirrel tail that plant was fully albino, but as you can see not very strong
And here I show you another albino (but yeah some small leaves are green so maybe is better to call it variegated) that was strong and fully developed and mature Snake variety (Thai/Laos):
I once had an Albino seedling from a landrace variety - i’m not sure which one anymore and I’ve unfortunately lost the pictures. But it wasn’t able to photosynthesize and died.
Only way I can Imagine your’s survived is by some symbiotic mushrooms in the ground.
Sorry this picture I took long time ago to documenting about the damaging of the spider mites.. but also is a variegated that I like because her leaf is split in half by the two colors
I am collecting all of the variegated varieties I can find. Here are a few things I think I’ve learned with them.
It seems like the trait is usually passed on by variegated female tissue. So seeds that started from albino tissue often come out alibno aswell.
The albino nugs don’t usually need a cure. There is no chlorophyll and in one of my phenos it was most flavorful immediately after dry. The cure did not improve flavor in my opinion. This is probably not true with all of the phenos though.
Sadly yes the albino seedlings will all die without a successful graft. Which is something I’m still trying to perfect as mine always die. A plant with even the smallest bit of green will often stay alive.
This is all just anecdotal and from person experience. I’m always hunting for more varieties. Soon I will be making a lot more variegated and albino crosses!
Oh, Thankyou for sharing this knowledge from real experience! I’m very interested to learn because they are so beatifull and in my opinion under evaluated . If all the world will legalize imagine them as decorations in luxury lounges of international airports or in big famous hotels like the Burj Al Arab in Dubai or the reception hall of de Bellagio in Las Vegas
