Black Mango 2026

Just want to show some of this years outdoor projects. Starting off first with Black Mango strain from prempavee.com

This is her official strain description:

New Entry for my preservation project.

Black Mango Prempavee, isn’t an officially recognized Landrace but this pheno that I was able to hunt is from the original seeds of a traditional farmer. With her we are working on the preservation of this line and we have activated an Offical Seeds Keeper Project where the males are saved.

THC 16-19% CBD 0-1% CBG 2-3%

DIMENSION Up to 2 mt

YELD - Medium/High

TERPS - Green Mango, very strong terps

Landrace/Heirloom

I use distilled water and soak/wash them overnight or some hours. I do this because i have killed so many seeds after i moved to Thailand

Anyways i found this way to work very well for me

They look amazing :star_struck:

Nice to have some sativa under 5 meter high

Is that a drip system for water or spray system and how close to the plant does the water come out

That plant has been topped, you can see she grow on two branches. Drip water irrigation. Not my field but from a woman traditional farmer from the mountain. Now she stopped to grow because she cannot sell her flowers and the new license fee is to expensive for her. She is one of the 3 farmers I will support with the project on my Prempavee — The Real Thai Natural Ganja | Patreon called “adopt a traditional farmer”

Thanks :+1:

That is very nice of you to do:clap::clap:

I’m not rich but i will support something in your patreon for sure

Yes is important to support me as everything I can collect I invest in our projects here like the seeds bank, this forum, and many other things.

Adopt a farmer is quite demanding tier, I don’t know if I will find someone who can make alone for real and maybe we are planning to open a cooperative or a foundation for support them and activate some professional level preservation program. But every other level of support is always important I’m not rich too so I understand very well. We are generous with what we have

Very nice work

I think the clean landrace genetic will be sought after in the future

If someone do a large scale selection and find some veeery special sativas and clone them i think they could be easier to make popular for sales and some hybrids from thai that are suitable for thai climate

I’m sure with you promoting this they will get popular

Concentrates from outdoor thai i think can be big also for export

I’m very small scale for own consumption, but if i find something special you can have it

How much is the fee to pay for growing and selling

Landrace preservation has different levels of participation

To avoid bottleneck of a Landrace is estimated a minimal population of 10.000 plants with some research suggesting a minimal population on 100.000 plants

If you have less you bottlenecked and lost what makes the landrace special: large genetic diversity

So you see to really “save” a Landrace we need hundreds of farmers all growing traditional way in their own specific area

This was possible in my areas before the mid 70’s but has become every year more hard and difficult

A short revival of what it was we had in 2022 and 2023 and 2024 after Thailand liberalization but already from 2025 we have observed a drastic decline

For example the farmers in my 3 groups they was more than 2000 farmers growing over 1 million trees x year in 2022 and 2023 they have become only about 300 farmers with around 10 or 20.000 trees x year in 2026 and maybe the 20/30% of them have now issues with cross pollination because of the smaller population and external genetics have heavier influence

And probably next year we will have less than that because the new regulations are not favorable for them

So this is why I aim to support a small group of farmers that I trust for their love for Thai genetics, organic approach and integrity to save at least 3 main varieties:

Hang Krarork (squirrel tail)

Hang Suea (tiger tail)

Foitong (golden string)

(And will be nice do something also for the black Mango)

To “save” this genetics we need to grow at least 10.000 plants in one field this is the work of at least 10 or 20 farmers and we know already that they will not sell their flowers (because nobody buy!) they will do only to have true landrace seeds saved and updated every year (to frozen seeds in a vault is not the same! Landrace they need to be grown every year season by season)

So this why I created the project “adopt a farmer” because with that budget we can guarantee this project to happen.

But of course buying seeds from me or the other farmers and grow this genetics in other areas also is a way to save something at small scale at least we can preserve those old trait

If we have enough resources we will create a foundation dedicated to this specific project. We are already building that side of the project right now.

Oh i see it has to be so big to keep the genetic variation

I would grow many if it wasn’t so risky with the leaders changing their mind all the time

I lost too much too many times to the law, i will never give up but i have to be more careful than i’ve been earlier

Anyways thanks a lot for the info, I’m learning a lot from you already :folded_hands:

Small preservation grows are also useful because if the big ones are lost at least something is saved. But to truly continue a landrace you need large population yes.
