In Thailand we have many landraces. Thai government have officially recognized 4 of them:

  • Hang Kra Rog Phu Phan ST1 (Squirrel Tail) : The most popular choice amongst E-saan traditional farmers known for high THC content and high yield

  • Hang Suea Sakon Nakhon TT1: A high-THC strain, referred to as “tiger tail” frequently grown for her more delicate terps profile and high compounds content and grown mostly in the North East

  • Tanaosri Kan Khaw WA1: A strain that officially has a balanced 1:1 THC/CBD ratio, but most of times is only THC around 12-14% from the center / south of Thailand

  • Tanaosri Kan Daeng RD1: A strain cultivated for higher CBD content also from the center / south, topically from the wild areas near the Myanmar border

Also very famous amongst local people:

  • Foitong: Pure THC variety that take the name Foitong “Golden String” because of the many orange pistils that use to cover the flowers even when she is fully matured making her looking like the traditional Thai dessert with homonymous name

  • Black Mango: From the growers of the hidden North side of the Golden triangle. Usually dark purple with the leaves also dark. Anyway the dark color is not guaranteed and come out only with some individuals. High in THC, can reach up to 18% and smell like Mango and berry

  • Purple Thai: not everybody accept it as a Landrace bit is so famous that needs to be mentioned. Beautiful purple colors , only THC variety but with low content. Rarely have more than 12%

  • Mekhong Classic: is a Prempavee Selection of a Landrace collected on the Nakhon Phanom Mekhong River side from a family that was holding the genetic for generations and now otherwise gone
