HANG KRAROK - Squirrel Tail ( Hang Krarok)

Let’s talk about here the most popular Landrace in Thailand: the HANG KRAROK

“Hang” หาง mean “Tail”

“Krarok” กระรอก mean “Squirrel”

So what we Thai people call HANG KRAROK (transliteration can differ a little sometimes, but don’t worry is common to find different ways to transliterate Thai to western languages) is for the English language the Squirrel Tail

This Ganja has this name probably because of the large colas that reminds the shape of the tail of a squirrel

What do you think looks similar?

Anyway there are so many different expression of this Landrace as I mentioned before is the preferred choice of most of the Thailand traditional farmers, so I have begun a work about separate them from different phenotype expressions

Here you can see another from the low lands of Sri Sonkran (chemical mint, rotten meat selection)

And this the shorter pheno that I renamed “Fat tail”

The Apple Vinegar selection

So have many more phenotype and place of origin to discover.

Yes. Hang Krarok Mango is a Selection made at the University of Sakon Making

Yes, the Manao is a selection of Hang Krarork made some researches at the Sakon Nakhon University that has strong predisposition to limonene terps

MANAO in Thai mean LIME

I got those seeds in 2023 and I made my selection from them in 2024

It looks more or less like any other Squirrel Tail , also somehow similar to the Mekhong Classic but more leafy
